Melissa has been making and selling her innovative product in Australia for the past seven years. What makes these buckles so special is the use of multiple layers of varying metals to create a symbolic or illustrative image. These layers are sometimes soldered or riveted, but also always feature the distinctive use of small optical screws to connect major components of the design.

The most common materials used are copper, silver, brass and nickel; with the occasional addition of found objects or a semi-precious stone.

Buckles can be made to order as a one-off creation, using any subject matter the client may prefer ( eg. see stingray buckle ). Alternatively, a special buckle can be chosen from the listed limited edition examples. The buckles can be made large, obtrusive and /or funky, or you may choose the smaller, simpler and stylish versions which still retain the unique look of melissa’s designs.

As far as the leather belts are concerned, some buckles fit in a traditional loophole arrangement and all buckles can fit a belt made with a regular press stud catch. Leather belts to fit can be supplied with any order at a small extra cost.

Melissa has a university degree in Jewellery Design and has been passionate about creating her characteristic buckle designs since her student days many years ago. She lives in Australia and has sold to many clients within Australia as well as customers from the United Kingdom, Germany, Indonesia and the United States. In 2003 she was commissioned by the US fan club ‘fansRULE’ to create a set of of personalised buckles for world famous singer Christina Aguilera.
